  • Mount Carmel Historic Baptist Church

    Our own Marlo details the historical significance of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Biddleville, the oldest predominantly Black neighborhood in the city. Founded in 1878, the church grew alongside the Black community, but its physical structure deteriorated over time. Efforts to preserve it highlight broader issues of gentrification and neglect of Black history in Charlotte.
